Our School

We are a non-profit preschool, founded and maintained by parents. Our fully licensed teacher develops our curriculum, and runs each class with the assistance of parents. This keeps our program affordable through parent-participation and allows parents to be more actively involved in their child’s education

We are proud of our unique culture and philosophy at Happy Hours, and our play based curriculum. An excellent adult-to-child ratio, manageable class sizes and fully qualified ECE teacher helps ensure your child gets a first class teaching experience.

Our facilities

Outdoor

Our preschool is situated within a tranquil park like setting shared with the Fort Langley Lions Seniors Hall.

We have a private, and completely fenced-in, outdoor playground with a wide selection of toys to encourage both active and imaginative play. This includes a playhouse, climbing frame with slide, suspended-walkway, teeter-totters, sandpit, tables and chairs, sit-on airplane, basketball hoop and a shed full of outdoor toys.

One of the best assets we have at Happy Hours is the use of an expansive grassy meadow. The field is bordered on one side by a small stream and muddy embankment, and on the other side by blackberry bushes. This is a great place for the children to run around and explore nature and to enjoy (supervised) fun in the mud!

Across from this runs a winding path through a small grove of deciduous trees where we have the opportunity to explore and discover.

Parking at Happy Hours is plentiful, private and free.

Indoor
Our classroom is a functional, bright, open-plan space with defined sections for various daily activities.

Our walls are adorned with lots of children’s art, numbers, shapes, letters and various teaching aids.

We have areas for painting and crafts, free play, dress-up, thoughtful play and reading, circle-time and snack time

All toys are safe, age appropriate and designed to encourage creative and imaginative play. For example the children love cooking up delicious meals in our pretend kitchen area, and playing Santa's workshop at Christmas time. We have drawers full of wooden and Lego blocks, Play Dough, Mr Potato Heads, puzzles, cars and more.

There is ample floor space so the children have room to run, jump, hop, roll and dance during our active play sessions.

Safe environment

Children's safety is very important to us at Happy Hours. Our excellent adult-to-child ration allows for vigilant, quality supervision of the children at all times.

All our duty parents and teachers must complete a criminal record check. Our facilities are not shared with other groups during preschool hours, and our outdoor play area is completely fenced-in to help ensure child safety.
